Frequently Asked Questions

What are 10 good trivia questions?
A good trivia question gives everyone a fighting chance: it includes context or a hint (a "foothold") and has one short, definitive answer. Our 10 crowd-pleasers above are the questions that consistently land at live trivia nights — a mix of general knowledge, pop culture, and one or two friendly trick questions.
Are these trivia questions free to use?
Yes — use them for your bar night, classroom, party, or Zoom call, no attribution required. If you host a recurring trivia night at a venue, claim your free listing on TriviaNearMe so players can find you.
How often are these questions updated?
Quarterly. We rotate in new questions, retire anything that's aged badly, and re-verify answers. The date under the title reflects the last review.
How do I run a trivia night with these questions?
The format that works: 4–6 rounds of 8–10 questions, mixed categories, aiming for teams to get 60–80% right. Read each question twice, give about a minute per question, and put the answers on a screen if you can. Our guide to hosting trivia covers pacing, scoring, and team names — and if you'd rather just play, find a trivia night near you.
What's the difference between trivia questions and pub quiz questions?
Mostly geography: "pub quiz" is the British term, and pub quizzes usually run in fixed themed rounds (including a picture or music round). Trivia night is the American cousin. Same game, different accent — we have a ready-to-run pub quiz if you want the round-based format.
