Frequently Asked Questions

How do you play the sports trivia quiz?
Press start and the first question appears with a 20-second clock. Type your answer and press Enter — there are no options to choose from. The right answer is revealed straight away, along with the source it came from, and you get a score out of 12 at the end.
Do I have to spell the answer exactly right?
No. Bar trivia has never required perfect spelling, and neither does this. Near-misses, typos and a missing "the" are all marked correct — the check is whether you knew the answer, not whether you can spell it under time pressure.
Is it multiple choice?
No, and that is the point. Most online trivia gives you four options, which means a guess is right a quarter of the time. Here you type what you think, the same way you would write it on an answer sheet at a real trivia night.
How long does the sports quiz take?
12 questions at 20 seconds each, so a few minutes at most. Answer faster and you score more: the speed bonus is worth up to half again on top of each question.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
It is free and there is no signup. You can play straight away, and your scores are kept so you can see your stats later — making an account just means they follow you to another device.
Where can I find a real trivia night near me?
TriviaNearMe lists bar trivia and pub quiz nights across thousands of US cities. Search by city or use your location to find one happening near you this week — the quizzes here are good practice for it.
