Detroit's trivia is a three-company town with a healthy independent streak running alongside it. My Trivia Live dominates the western suburbs with 10 venues, most of them neighborhood bars in Livonia, Allen Park, Taylor, Redford Township, and Garden City, where the vibe skews more classic pub quiz than craft beer taproom. Sports Venue Bar & Grill in Garden City alone runs three nights a week through My Trivia Live, and the Livonia Elks Lodge hosts Thursday, Friday, and Saturday sessions, making it one of the most active single venues in the metro. Inside the city proper, Sporcle (the quiz platform turned live events company, born right here in Michigan) and Quizzo Detroit split the urban market almost evenly. Sporcle runs at six locations including HopCat and Eastern Market Brewing Co. on Wednesdays, Elephant & Co. locations in both Detroit and Royal Oak on Tuesdays, and McShane's Irish Pub in Corktown on Thursdays. Quizzo Detroit counters with six of their own: Batch Brewing Company and Firebird Tavern in the Greektown-adjacent corridor on Wednesdays, Corktown Taphouse and Barkside Detroit in West Village on Tuesdays, and Second Best in the Cass Corridor on Wednesday evenings. Wednesday is the marquee night with about 13 venues running simultaneously, from the Bronx Bar in Midtown to Trina O'Malley's out in Allen Park. Tuesday is nearly as busy, and the scene stretches into Thursday with options at The Yard at Corktown, The Corner Grill in Ferndale, and Ye Olde Saloon in Royal Oak. The geographic spread is notable. Detroit trivia covers Greektown and Eastern Market downtown, the Corktown brewery cluster, the Royal Oak and Ferndale strip in Oakland County, and a deep suburban belt through Wayne County's western communities.
