Louisville's trivia runs deep. There are 81 active venues across a city that takes its bar culture about as seriously as its bourbon. The Highlands, Bardstown Road, Frankfort Avenue, and the NuLu corridor downtown form the core of the action, but you'll find games well into the suburbs on every night of the week. HeinSight Trivia is the biggest local operator, hosting at 11 venues including Saints Pizza Pub in St Matthews, multiple Craft House Pizza locations, Vernon Lanes in Butchertown, and West Sixth NuLu on Market Street. Challenge Entertainment runs seven spots, mostly in the outer ring: Impellizzeri's Pizza locations, Beef 'O' Brady's outposts, and The Granville Pub near UofL. Louisville Trivia keeps things tighter with five venues concentrated in the core: Atrium Brewing and Mag Bar on the south side, DiOrio's Pizza on Wallace Ave, Tin Roof in St Matthews, and Four Pegs Smokehouse on Goss Ave. The Trivia Nerd hosts at three venues including Goodwood NuLu Taproom and Craft House Pizza's Westport location. But the majority of Louisville's trivia nights, over 50, are independently run, and that's where much of the character lives. Baxter Avenue alone is a trivia crawl waiting to happen: Molly Malone's, DiOrio's, Flanagan's Ale House, PG&J's Dog Park Bar, and Wick's Pizza all host within blocks of each other. The brewery scene contributes heavily too. Gallant Fox, Butchertown Brewing, Gravely Brewing, Noble Funk, Awry Brewing, and Trellis Brewing all run their own nights. Spots like Bambi Bar on Bardstown Road, Hereafter downtown, Planet of the Tapes on Barret Ave, and Galaxie on East Market add personality to a circuit that manages to feel both sprawling and distinctly Louisville.
