Mesa is a Tuesday trivia town in the most extreme way possible. Eight of the city's 14 active venues run on Tuesday. That's a staggering concentration, which means you've got options from one end of the East Valley to the other, but you'd better not wait until Wednesday if you want choices. The company presence is light. Geeks Who Drink runs 12 West Brewing on Main Street in the revitalized downtown. Game Nights Trivia hosts at R.T. O'Sullivan's out near Superstition Springs on Wednesday. Team Trivia runs Boulders on Southern on Tuesday. The remaining 11 venues do their own thing. That Tuesday lineup is the main event. 414 Pub Pizza on West Southern starts at 6 PM, Copper State Taphouse and Cider Corps both sit near downtown, The Hub Grill has two locations (on Sossaman and Stapley) both running at once, and The Draft Sports Grill on West Baseline, 12 West Brewing, and Bowlero on West Southern all compete for the same crowd. Beyond Tuesday, the options thin out quickly. Wednesday has just two venues: Fat Willy's way out east at Crismon and Baseline (with a 5 PM start that catches the after-work crowd) and R.T. O'Sullivan's near Superstition Springs. Thursday brings Hiatus on Main and Starz on East University. Friday's sole option is The Silver Key Lounge on West Guadalupe. Monday has Copper State Taphouse starting at 6 PM on North Dobson. The geographic spread covers Mesa's full east-west stretch, from downtown's emerging brewery district to the far eastern suburbs, but the scheduling could use some redistribution. Mesa has plenty of venues. It just doesn't have enough nights to spread them across.
