Montréal's trivia scene has one defining quirk that sets it apart from every other city on this site: it's overwhelmingly, almost absurdly, a Monday night phenomenon. Of the city's 22 active venues, roughly 13 run their quiz on Monday. That kind of concentration would be unusual anywhere but borders on cultural institution here. If you want to play trivia in Montréal, clear your Monday evening. It's also almost entirely independent. Only one hosted company shows up in the data, Quiz Master Brian at Burgundy Lion on Rue Notre Dame Ouest in Saint-Henri. Everyone else runs their own show, and that gives the city's quiz nights a charmingly pub-by-pub personality. The Monday lineup stretches across the island: Bar Chez Baptiste on Mont-Royal Est in the Plateau, Nestor and Le Vestiaire on Rue St-Hubert in Rosemont, La Cale (a zero-waste pub, naturally) also on St-Hubert, McKibbins on Saint-Laurent, Barfly on the Main, Pub Wolf & Workman and Barrelmans in Old Montréal, Le Vieux Dublin on Rue Cathcart downtown, McKibbin's on Bishop near Concordia, and Pub McCarold on Côte-des-Neiges near the university. Tuesdays offer a smaller but solid slate: Maison Publique McLean's on Peel, Le Colonel Moutarde on Rue Saint-Denis in the Plateau, 4 Origines in Pointe-Saint-Charles, Randolph Pub Ludique in Laval, and the late-night Honey Martin on Sherbrooke Ouest in NDG with a 9 PM start. Wednesdays thin out further to Gaspar Brasserie in the Old Port and Orchard Pub on Monkland in NDG. For weekend options, Typhoon Lounge and Pub Bishop & Bagg both run Sundays. The overall pattern is clear. Montréal puts all its trivia energy into one big Monday night, and the rest of the week is a choose-your-own-adventure.
