Philadelphia doesn't call it trivia. It calls it quizzo, and the distinction matters. The city's pub quiz tradition predates the national trivia boom by years, and that independent streak still defines things. With 47 active venues spread from Old City to Manayunk, Philly's circuit is overwhelmingly run by individual bars doing their own thing, with a few notable host companies adding structure around the edges. The biggest organized presence belongs to Johnny Goodtimes Quizzo, a local institution with six venues. His nights span the city: FringeArts on Columbus Boulevard and Two Locals Brewing in University City both run Wednesdays, Founding Fathers on South Street does Tuesdays, and Deli@Dwell and PIZZATA Pizzeria on East Passyunk hold down Thursdays. Geeks Who Drink has two suburban-adjacent spots, Fingers Wings & Other Things in Conshohocken and Bark Social in Manayunk, while Trivia Mafia books Glory Beer Bar on Chestnut Street for Wednesdays.
