Raleigh's trivia scene is one of the more fiercely independent in the country. Of the city's 35 active venues, 28 run their own shows without a national or regional trivia company behind them. That ratio reflects the Triangle's broader DIY streak and a brewery culture where taproom programming gets handled in-house. Geeks Who Drink has the largest organized presence with just two venues, Ponysaurus Brewing Co. and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, both on Monday nights. Past that, you'll find one-offs from Team Trivia (Bond Brothers Beer Company in Cary), Hammered Trivia (Tap Yard Raleigh), Not Rocket Science Trivia (Abbey Road Tavern & Grill in Cary), and a handful of others. No single company owns more than a sliver of the market. The brewery-to-trivia pipeline here is strong. Raleigh Brewing Company, Crank Arm Brewing in the Warehouse District, Bowstring Brewyard off Wake Forest Road, Compass Rose Brewery, Edit Beer Co., and Heyday Brewing all host their own nights, which makes the craft beer crowd and the trivia crowd essentially the same people. Thursday is the biggest night with roughly ten options, including House of Hops locations in both Midtown and Glenwood North and Vault Craft Beer on West South Street. Wednesday runs close behind with games at Raleigh Beer Garden on Glenwood Avenue, Longleaf Swine near the Capitol, and Sneaky Penguin Brewing up in North Raleigh. Sunday is the quiet outlier. Wong's Tacos at Glenlake runs a 6 PM show through Ball of Fire Entertainment. But the real action spans Monday through Thursday. The Glenwood South corridor downtown, the breweries scattered through midtown and North Hills, and the Cary-area suburban spots each have their own gravity, giving the metro enough variety that you'll rarely need to repeat a venue.
