Toronto's trivia scene is vast, fiercely independent, and scattered across a city that takes its pub culture as seriously as it takes its arguments about the best neighbourhood. There are 45 active venues stretching from the downtown core out to Etobicoke, the Danforth, and up to Richmond Hill, and the overwhelming majority are bars and breweries running their own quiz nights. No single company has managed to consolidate this market, and that's probably exactly how Toronto wants it. A handful of small outfits dot the edges. ruby PUB TRIVIA runs three venues in Etobicoke, including Nickel Brook Brewing Co. on The Queensway and Wingporium Sports Bar. PubStumpers holds Axis Cafe in the Junction, Question Everything books The Fortunate Fox on Bloor, Toronto Trivia has Pennies near Liberty Village, and Get A Clu Trivia runs Duke of Kent on Yonge. But with 38 independent venues, the organized companies are a footnote to the broader picture. The Junction and Dundas West corridor is a particular hotspot. Junction Underground, The Alpine, and Gabby's all host Thursday nights within a few blocks of each other on Dundas Street West. Queen West has some of the city's most notable quiz venues: the Rivoli on Queen, Death & Taxes Free House near Parkdale, and The Drake Hotel all run different nights. The downtown core offers plenty of options along King and Richmond, where GRETA Bar, One Eyed Jack, Tha Phae Tavern, and The Corner Place all sit within walking distance. The east side has its own cluster, with Rorschach Brewing Co., Eastbound Brewing Company, Queen's Head Pub on Queen East, and Red Tape Brewery on Main Street. Even Leslieville's Mom's Basement holds Tuesday night sessions on the Danforth. Tuesday is the dominant night by a considerable margin, with roughly 20 venues running, most starting between 7:00 and 8:00 PM. Wednesday is a solid second. Monday has a surprisingly strong showing with venues like Bar Hop Brewco, Stout Irish Pub, The West Cork, and Ghost Taco. Thursday is lighter but has good options in the Junction. Late-night seekers will find a few 9 PM starts at St. Louis Bar & Grill locations on Yonge.
